I began by primarily reviewing Balkan and Central European music but expanded to include a large variety of books and DVDs (many international) because traditional music just does not get a large readership. International music CDs reviews are of traditional music from Hungary, Romania, Greece, Albania, Macedonia, Serbia, Former Republic of Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Albania, Scandinavia (Nordic), Gypsy and Israeli are among the first 250 - 300 reviews. After that I interspersed them throughout my review pages. Classical rank = #178 It is all rather meaningless ever since Amazon.com started changing the rules between Oct. 2008 - Dec. 2008. After this time, a person can only vote on 10 - 15 reviews before they are labelled "fan" and their vote no longer counts ... At least that is the common belief by those on the Amazon.com Discussion Board who have studied the matter. I was attributed 630 "fans" on 10/24/08. Fan statistic was 664 on 1/03/2009. Then amazon dropped the fan number to 143. Oct. 2009 it changed to 80. Very odd! In Sept. 2008 *before* the changes : "Classic amazon.com" rank was #173 calculated based on 8,138 positive votes. Total votes: 9,617 (approximately). Amazon.com changed their ranking system and eliminated what they defined as "fan votes" around Oct. 2008 - Dec. 2008. Evidently, they are constantly revising and refining their rules. Amazon.com explained the revised system is less biased. YEAR 2007: #302 - 318. Average 308 YEAR 2006: 1/18 - 12/31: ranking # 324 - 344. Average 334. UK AMAZON TOP 1,000 BADGE on 8/10/04 Then amazon.co.uk changed the ranking calculations, I dropped!
