More Easter postcards from the 1960s and 1970s.
There are a delightful variety of themes represented. |

The table-cloth is from the Kalocsa region.
The hand-embroidered table cloth provides a colorful background for the hand-painted eggs.
|
This is a "kulacs", a thermos designed with fur and leather.
The red-colored eggs symbolize fertility. The muffin is called "pogacsa" in Hungarian. The accent is on the first syllable and the "cs" sounds like the American "ch". |

Another boldly painted red egg!
The "Matyo" style hand-embroidered table cloth is very famous. |
Exquisitely designed eggs!
The hand-embroidered table cloth is extraordinary. |

I remember this postcard of an inquisitive but shy bunny most often!
It is among my favorites. |
Another style of Easter basket.
Miniature eggs or candies are included here. |

Plainly colored eggs with two happy chicks!
Again, a miniature basket of another style. |
Two toy bunnies bringing chocolate eggs!
A cute Easter basket completes this card. |

These two dolls are adorable!
I do not know the region from where the costumes originate ... but they are authentic. The ceramic plate and bowl are "prized" Hungarian possessions! |
Two chicks again this time a drawing - not a photo.
The decoration on the eggs are typical traditional designs. |
|
|
This most likely is a birthday card ... one of my favorites!
The children are wearing the national costume of Hungary. Easter is most enjoyed by this age-group. I remember it well! |
Another pretty picture of a bowl with beautfully painted eggs!
Pussy-willows often show up on Easter cards ... representing spring, I think. |
|
|
This little chick is well-dressed with a ribbon!
Numerous traditionally designed eggs - an artistic pleasure. |
Last but not least ... a spotted bunny bringing us eggs!
In addition to Hungarian painted eggs ... this multicultural bunny is delivering an American-style plastic egg which is split in half and put together. |
